Aravinth– Feedback on Level 1 Workshop (2025/1)

Dear Vishal,
When I first signed up for your acting workshop, I honestly had no expectations. I just wanted to try something new and exciting, to step out of my comfort zone for a bit. But from the very first moment I walked in for the interview, I felt this incredible warmth from you. You remembered my name, even though we’d only spoken once on the phone, that small gesture made me feel seen and welcomed right away. From that point on, I found myself genuinely looking forward to the start of the course, even though I had no idea just how much it would end up changing my life.
On the first day, you kept telling us how important it was, and I soon understood why. That day was truly transformative for me. It broke down so many of the inhibitions I’d been carrying, and for the first time in a long time, I felt free from judgment, both from others and from myself. You created a space where all of us felt safe, where we could be vulnerable and open, and where we could connect with each other on a deeper level. The bond that formed between all of us in those first few days is something that usually takes years to build, but somehow, under your guidance, it happened so naturally and so quickly.
As the weeks went by, we didn’t just learn about acting, we learned about ourselves. We learned how to be better, more authentic versions of who we are. I’ve had a tough few years, and this course helped me move past a lot of that pain. It gave me the courage to start the journey toward becoming the person I want to be.
Some of my favorite memories are from the bonding sessions after class, when we’d sit and talk for hours, so long that the café staff would have to ask us to leave so they could close up! Those conversations were so stimulating and meaningful, and it had been a long time since I’d felt that kind of connection with people.
One thing that truly amazed me was your energy, Vishal. Even when you were unwell during those first few classes, you showed up for us, fully present and engaged. You have this rare ability to really see people for who they are, to understand them even when they don’t say a word. Whenever someone was feeling low, you were always there, offering support and genuine concern, something that’s so rare these days.
This course didn’t just help me find myself; it also gave me a group of friends I know I’ll cherish for life. The last week, leading up to the grading play, was intense but unforgettable.
My mentors, Nishanth and Eve, went above and beyond, spending hours with us every day to help us give our best performance. My teammates Giri, Rishabh, and Roopa were incredible, and even though it was exhausting, we had so much fun together.
I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Baba, the founder of Misfit and your own mentor, who shaped this course and made all of this possible. To you Vishal and all the mentors who guided us through these six weeks, Thank you! from the bottom of my heart and also for the entire Misfit community, who came together to help us set up everything for our grading day, made our special day even more memorable.
Vishal, I’ve always dreamed of making a difference in at least a few people’s lives. You’ve made a difference in all of ours. You truly shine so brightly, and I hope you keep spreading your light wherever you go. Thank you for coming into my life and making it so much brighter.
With all my gratitude and love,
Aravinth Nallasamy
