Hi Vishal,

Hope you are doing well, back and rejuvenated from your holiday. Please find my L2 feedback below:

“What does it take to be an actor?

I pondered on this question several times myself, with no real answer and more often than not with the wrong ones! I quite often wondered what it was about this craft that keeps drawing me to it, while I kept doubting the choices I made for it. After my Level 1 with Vishal’s Acting workshop, I knew I wanted to do Level 2 because I did not want to leave the course unfinished and what a brilliant choice!

Six weekends, at first, sounded like quite the commitment, and to do it for a second time, oh boy! But what a roller coaster of a journey, plenty of laughs, barely many compared to the cry, dwelling deep into places we more often than not cut off. It was where I grew closer to myself!

My best memory of the workshop will be the one where we had to talk of a time or something that made us truly happy and everyone spoke of the most simple things. More often than not in life, our judgment gets clouded by social contradictions, but it’s always the simple things that truly makes us who we are, good or bad! And this came as a learning through this well structured workshop, that taught the techniques of acting that also provided skills to lead a pleasant life.

“Make it” as an actor or not, I hope to make it as a good human being and this workshop unknowingly has given me the skills for it, allowed me to see myself better, for who I am and what it is that truly makes me happy and to accept it for what it is!

So now ask me, what does it take to be an actor and my answer is certain.

It takes a ton of vulnerability, grit, an intelligence that can still be silly when needed. It takes for you to be an honest person, no matter who you are and allow yourself to just be the character you’re advocating. Just keep it simple, that’s all! Guess, it’s all this that keeps me forever drawn to the craft!

A heartfelt thank you to Vishal for taking Misfit forward, it takes a big heart to do what you do. It goes without saying that his team, Venky, Nazar, Manju, Ujjani, Kavya, Dileep, Ashish and all the others of the Misfit family make the team all the more wonderful.”

Regards and love,

Yamini M N

…. and an overall 5 star rating for the workshop! Haha , IYKYK!
