Gomathi Raveendran- Feedback on Level 2 Workshop (2023/1)

Email – raveendrangomathi@gmail.com
Hey Vishal,
As you know I joined this workshop to help get out of my shell – to go out there and talk to people normally.
And honestly, this workshop did way more for me than therapy did. I said it before for L1 – where I learnt to take myself less seriously and just have fun without worrying about what others would think. But L2 was something else all together. If L1 focused on the outside and how I interact with others, L2 focused on the inside and how I interact with myself.
Over the course of this workshop, you made us reach the darkest corners of our psyche – you pushed us just enough. Not too much, not too little. Some of the weeks were tough, I could not handle the things I dug back up. And that’s where you showed how truly you understand what you’re putting us through.
You were there to help me out of it, as you helped us rummage our internal closets and attics – you helped us let go of the doors, put the old things back in and ground ourselves back in the present. I think in a way L2 pushed you equally to be patient and supportive to all of us as it pushed us to introspect and express the introspected parts of our soul.
It’s been weeks since L2 got over, and the more I look back at the things I’ve learnt – the more I feel that I could have done way more with what it presented to me. There was so much to learn, so much to let go. But the growth it triggered in me is tremendous.
And of course, I can’t give feedback about just the emotional growth I’ve been through.
L1, and especially L2 changed the way I look at the art of acting. Be it the way I go about acting, or the way I look at someone else’s performance – it has made my everyday life so much more richer.
I walk the streets and see the bits and pieces of people that I can stitch together, I watch people speak and wonder about the little quirks in their tone and their faces. In the stories I write I go less into the plot and more into what each character would feel, how they’d look and feel. Truly fleshing out every single aspect of what makes a story a story.
Oh and I cut and dyed my hair by the end of the workshop. That should speak a lot about the workshop in itself 😀
I’ll definitely be back to revisit these lessons, with more dedication and consistency than I did the first time. For anyone scrolling through our feedback to see if this workshop is worth your time, it is. This is one of the best investments I’ve made of my time and money – the experience I’ve gained through this workshop is priceless.
Thank you Vishal, once again for being a wonderful mentor and an advisor – you are making a world of difference in the people who attend your workshops
