Please forgive me for my outrageous delay in wiring you this feedback. I was marinating a certain kind of love letter, and, voila, here it is…
Well, my particularly amusing & captivating instructor. Boy has been one HECK of an experience doing an L1 under your guidance. In some ways, I dare say it felt more like a bootcamp that challenged me physically, mentally, emotionally and, of course, spiritually. I joined with the intent of honing my technical skills & finding a community of like-minded individuals (check, check). On a deeper level I desired to be sickeningly challenged & pushed – and push me, oh, you absolutely did!
Something that I deeply appreciate about the way you’ve conducted this workshop is how much you vouch for credibility & authenticity in every way – even maintaining the necessity of doing critical background research on the course and, yourself, prior to joining! It’s an absolute breath of fresh air in what can be a maliciously fabricated environment, and this earnestness has led to what I feel can be described as ‘social magic’.
Because truly, there was such a leap of personalities in this batch. An incredibly diverse range of people coming together, and I quite enjoyed how you advocated for everyone’s individuality. It is a rarity to find a mentor who can walk the talk and conduct themselves with such fairness – to elevate every member of the class.
Nobody felt lesser or greater, including yourself, and hence there was this beautiful undercurrent of true celebration that grew stronger with every passing exercise you set us. Championing everyone and seeing them grow in real-time, witnessing your peers (and now, my friends) break certain mental constraints that have held them back in their personal lives, watching them learn to be vulnerable and trust people again… there is a certain kind of translatable world impact, which is undeniably profound. We dolefully surrendered our inhibitions at the MISFIT doorstep (as some of us were less willing than others) and returned far more renewed than we came.
So I thank you for it all! It has been a beautiful process and seeing you pour your heart out, overextend yourself in ways more than one, has been in the end, met with as much collective fierceness. Thank you for your thoroughness and intentionalism in every granular thing that you have imparted; your remarkable attention to detail to all of us as individuals throughout.
Your fabulous patience on days where things were simply not working – and in my case, when my facial warmth cues had been flash frozen into absolute extinction.
You’ve led us on a marvelous journey. The legacy of MISFIT is nurtured and protected by some truly exceptional hands.
